Background:
Home Owner began to notice unusual happenings shortly after he moved in. The radio upstairs would turn on all by itself and always go to the same song -- “Bury Me”. Several people have caught fleeting glimpses of an apparition. Though no one could describe features in detail, they were all sure it was a young female. On one occasion when Girlfriend was sitting alone upstairs, she heard the spirit whisper something above her head, but couldn’t make out what she said. Another friend reported being pushed down the stairs. Home Owner witnessed a door rattling for no apparent reason, and whenever he leaves for a couple of days, his aquarium pump shuts off all by itself. He was getting the sense that this presence did not like others being around him – especially Girlfriend. The family attempted to remove the spirit on their own to no avail. Activity has grown more intense, and the presence seems to be getting stronger and more aggressive. They’ve also been aware of spirit energy in the basement, but don’t know if it’s the same entity, or if they’re dealing with more than one.
Site Survey & Interview: Feb 06, 2010
As standard procedure, MCGH arrived fully prepared to conduct a pre-investigation, if necessary. Our team was comprised of John (lead investigator), Brad and Heidi. Base level readings upstairs and in most rooms on the main floor were normal. However, the K2 registered EMFs upwards of 20 both in the living room and in the basement. The exterior of the home was inspected for proper grounding, and found to be in good order. Inside, John quickly picked up on a young female presence 14-15 years of age, who he believed died in the home due to a drug overdose. The name Sarah came to mind. Home Owner led the team upstairs to the room where the most activity occurs, and John felt that this was the room she slept in, and possibly died in. As soon as Home Owner walked in the room, our K2 meter spiked. We began speaking to her, and the K2 was responding. John turned his recorder on, and we conducted a fairly lengthy EVP session, during which time, different people who were in the home came upstairs to join us. When Girlfriend came up, the K2 stopped responding. One of us asked, “Do you want Girlfriend to leave?”, and it spiked, which we interpreted to be a yes. As soon as she left, communication was open again. A while later, Mom came up. Again, the K2 stopped responding. We asked, “Do you want Mom to leave?”, and we got another yes. By the end of the night, Heidi was the only female who she seemed to be comfortable with. At one point, Home Owner brought in the CD with her favorite song on it. As soon as he turned on the boombox, it jumped right to that track, and the K2 spiked and fluttered in time with the beat, like a strobe light or someone who’s dancing. Almost every time Home Owner left the room, the K2 went flat. It’s possible that she was following him. John’s overall feeling was that she was very scared while we were talking to her; possibly fearful that we might make her leave. All of us sensed that she doesn’t realize that she’s dead, or can’t acknowledge it because she doesn’t understand how she ended up that way. And even if she did want to leave, she doesn’t know how. We also concur unanimously that she’s infatuated with Home Owner, and wants him to focus all of his attention on her, and her alone – not his family, girlfriend, or buddies. This would explain some of her scare tactics resembling the kind of pranks an adolescent would play.

Interestingly, when John went to review the file on his recorder, he found that it had been shut off. Immediately after he asked the question, “Would you like to leave a message for us on this recorder?” and told her to talk into the red light, his recording ended; as if the recorder went dead. While we were there, none of us noticed that the recorder shut down. The last time recorded on that file was 7:20 pm. But this photo to the left was taken at 9:05 pm, and it clearly shows the red light is still on, indicating that the device was still recording. We can’t explain this, but it does tend to validate Home Owner’s report that she has the ability to manipulate electronics.
So regrettably, we have no EVP evidence from that first visit. But we certainly had some interesting personal experiences, and left the family with a couple of suggestions: 1) Write out the lyrics to the “Bury Me” song – there might be some meaning in it for the girl, or a message of some kind that she wants Home Owner to hear; and 2) Obtain a copy of the last title search, if possible, so we can attempt to research past owners. It was a foreclosure property, so no contact with the previous owners was made during the purchase. But Home Owner is a real estate agent, and may be able to access the title work without going through the county clerk.
Investigation: February 18, 2010
Conditions:

Moon: 4th Quarter / Waning in Sagittarius

Structural: Single-family bungalow; approx. 1,100 square feet including the basement; built in 1947 and in good repair. However, cosmetic renovations are still under way. Two large aquariums with filters may need to be unplugged during the investigation.
Investigation Timeline:

6:50 pm
Heidi arrived.  She went inside to wait for the rest of the team.
7:00 pm
Chass and Brad arrived.  Home Owner provided us with the lyrics to the song; Heidi read them aloud for the team.  They seemed a little dark, which is typical for that genre of music.  But also very choppy; didn’t make much sense and left a lot open for interpretation.  Chass gave some initial impressions of the home, and she sensed the presence of several animals in addition to the young girl.  Mom also went to the township offices and obtained information on five previous owners.  However, she was told that it was not legally mandatory to file a deed on record with the township; so therefore, the information was limited.
Any transactions between 1947 and 1993 are unknown at this time.  It is also unknown if Bruce Douglas was the previous owner who lost the home to foreclosure before Home Owner moved in.
Home Owner also reported that he only worked with the K2 a couple of times.  He noticed it spike when an ambulance passed by, after which, it seemed to react any time he said the word “ambulance”.  He also talked about a gun, and that made it spike also.  So those were both curious things.  He was mainly not comfortable communicating with her alone.
7:20 pm
Art arrived and we split into teams – Chass with Art / Heidi with Brad.  Since Brad and Heidi already had a sitting upstairs during the pre-investigation, they took to the basement first.  Home Owner accompanied the other team upstairs for a walk-through.  Brad and Heidi felt that the energy in the basement was flat.  Mom and Girlfriend came with us.  Mom pointed out an area where she said Home Owner felt uncomfortable.  Heidi’s Ghostmeter was going off like crazy due to the high EMFs down there.
8:00 pm
We regrouped momentarily on the main floor to share our thoughts.  Chass stated that she had gotten some uneasy impressions off the closet door and the door to the storage area left of the couch (if you were facing it).  Chass told Mom that she felt uncomfortable being in that room.  We agreed to focus on the upstairs bedroom, and rotate the mix of individuals who participated every 20-30 minutes to observe if there was any objection to other people being present, like was experienced before at the pre-investigation interview.  Chass and Art took the first shift with Home Owner.  The rest of us sat quietly in the living room.  Meanwhile, I pulled out my pendulum and quietly asked my spirit guide to obtain a few answers without affecting the session that was in progress upstairs.  When asked to confirm the age of the girl, I was given “17”.  I asked what was the last year she was in the house alive (i.e., the year of her death), I was given “1966”.
8:20 pm
The first group came down and recommended that the furnace be shut off, just to be certain that the K2 was not reacting to that, rather than to us.  They did experience the same degree of K2 activity that we reported on our prior visit.  Chass stated that she asked the age, and felt it was somewhere between 16 and 17, which coincides with what Heidi received, but would make the girl slightly older than John’s initial impression of her.  Chass also stated that she picked up that it was a drug overdose. She was given the name Madison, which possibly could have been a last name.  But two of Home Owner’s friends also came up with the name Madison recently.  Chass also got that when the family found her, it was too late to even call an ambulance.

8:30 pm
About this time, Chass got an urgent call from John regarding the Detroit case.  Chass called the investigators outside to fill us in, and then left to assist with the Detroit case.  But she was hoping she’d be able to come back.
8:45 pm
For the second sitting, it was Heidi, Brad and Art – no clients present. This time, the heat was turned off.  In order to attempt some validation of the K2 responses, Heidi used her pendulum again.  We situated the camera so that both the pendulum and the meter would be in the view finder.  Throughout the sitting, the K2 only lit when Heidi got a strong yes from the pendulum.  We asked Art to ask some of the same questions to see if the answer came back the same.  When asked the age of the girl, the pendulum counted up to 17.  Again, Heidi asked for the last year that the girl was in the house alive, and the pendulum drew out the numbers 1966. Heidi asked how many years she lived in the house, and the pendulum counted out 12 – which would place her moving into the home in 1954, if the responses were even accurate.
In summary, the message we received was that the drug overdose was accidental.  That she wasn’t angry with her parents or unhappy at all.  She was just an ordinary teenager experimenting with drugs for the purpose of getting a high, and had no idea that she would end up dead.  That she didn’t have anything against Girlfriend or Mom, and she was okay with them participating in a circle to help her cross over.  She indicated that she did want to go to a better place now, and wanted our help.  Heidi asked if there was anyone who she would like us to call forth to come meet her and help her cross over, and the response was no. Heidi asked if she would like one more opportunity to say good-bye to Home Owner before we began, and the response was a strong yes.  She also told us that she slept in that room upstairs, confirming what John had been told.  But that she didn’t die there.  At the end of the session, Heidi asked her to lead me to the room where she died, and the pendulum directed me to the downstairs bathroom.  When asked about going in an ambulance, there was no response.

9:20 pm
We came back down to discuss our plan for holding a final circle. Brad explained a little bit of what the intent for the circle would be, and stressed the importance of positive thinking.  We took a short break, and checked in with John to confirm that nobody else would be coming back, from the Detroit case.  He gave us the go-ahead to proceed.
10:00 pm
The session went very well under Brad’s guidance.  When Brad invited everyone to speak freely, nobody did.  Everyone seemed to be comfortable letting things stand as they were.  It was very calming and peaceful.
We stressed the importance of releasing / letting go, and not doing anything that might call her back in – such as, attempting to communicate with her again.  Brad suggested that Home Owner blow out the candles himself to symbolize closure.
11:45 pm
The three of us talked briefly outside before we left.

Evidence & Observations:
Nothing significant turned up as for physical evidence after hours of reviewing our audio recordings and night shot video. Above are a couple of pictures of interest. We all believe that there was paranormal activity in the house. As to the outcome, and the message of the young spirit, is to be seen and up for interpretation from the Home Owner.
